Brandy New rider

Hi! Just bought a Honda Rebel and I now have a whopping 20 hours of riding under my belt. Thought I would check into Tribe to get some pointers, and learn a bit. My name is Jody, nice to meet you all.

Yesterday was my first real day playing on the bike.

Whenever I get sort of comfortable and relaxed, I tell myself to snap out of it, because It has been drilled into my head, that I have to be constantly diligent for cars that might not see me. Doubly so now, because I suck and don't really know what I'm doing yet... so far everybody has been pretty tolerant of my jerking and bucking along. (I don't always jerk and buck, 60% of the time I am moderately smooth) I'd love to hear what the car behind me is saying. Probably, "look at this idiot", "Can you believe this idiot?".
I'm hoping my pink gloves might buy me a little mercy with the rude drivers. I think female riders are still a bit of an oddity. People, "go look it's a chick. I'll be damn." (or maybe that's just me).

My biggest fauxpau is leaving that damn blinker on for 40 blocks....I start to notice that cars are acting funny around me and look down and see that damn blinking light is still on. Trying to train myself to #1 make turn, then #2 turn off blinker. One smooth action.

Regardless, I feel like Christopher Columbus when I take it out....so challenging, so daunting, so fun to learn something I really don't know much about. Love the challenge! I have spent many a day on the back of a bike, but never in the drivers seat. My 2008 New Years resolution was to finally learn how to ride a motorcycle. I am sick of waiting for the next boyfriend, to maybe.... have a bike that I can ride on. Time to take matters in my own hands! I went to a 3 day class with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation in Jan. 1 day in class and 2 days learning how to ride on the range at a big VA parking lot. I assure you Wilshire is nothing like the parking lot! and I need a place to carry my darn purse for Gods sake!! I cant be running around town without my essentials!!

I have also discovered I talk to myself in my full face helmet. Nobody can see my lips move and it sort of reassures me. I feel like I am having a conversation with someone on the back!! lol "Ok, now we are going to turn", "whew, made it", "Ok, just press the start button again", "everyone stalls out in the beginning", "Ok, put the nozzle in the little hole", "don't spew gas all over your bike with all these people watching". lol!

I currently have it chained to my VW bug front bumper in the back. The bike is in front of the bug. I am so afraid I will jump in the bug, throw it in reverse and have that 300 lb bike come crashing down! Yesterday, when I was getting ready for a ride, I had to back my bug out to get the bike out and I forgot to unchain it!!!! I stinking dragged the bike about 3-4 inches with me!!! Thank God it did not tip over. It sort of skidded along....I'm sure that was really great for the alignment of the bike to be dragged sideways by it's front wheel.

My landlord will drill a hole for a D ring in the cement today or tomorrow, then I can chain it up to the ground and not have another stupid incident like that again.

That's it. Hope you have a good weekend!
Jody

Yamaha mechanic recommendation for Oakland?

Hiya! Just beginning to learn how to ride and bought a '93 Yamaha Seca II. I hope to find a good mechanic that I can take it to for tune-up, over-all assessment and ongoing maintenance. In or near Oakland is preferred. Can anyone make a recommendation?
respek,

Hi! Right now I'm a back-seat girl on my hubby's bike, but I'm signed up for the training course to get my licence (and hopefully a bike to go along with it) in June!
I'm in Nova Scotia Canada. We have some GORGEOUS roads to ride up here.
Just thought I'd say hi! I'm sure I'll have questions in the future.

No Zen in the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

AARaaaAARrrgggGGGGHHHHHhhhhh !!! GACK!

For those of you who did not hear the sordid story..

a few weeks ago I decided to sell my motorcycle. #1, i don't ride it much anymore. #2 i'd outgrown it anyway, and kept feeling like i wanted more power

So I took it down to the shop to have a tune-up to make sure it was all running nicely for sale. I spent nearly 400$ on new brakes, a carb clean, getting the chain cleaned and oiled, new air filter. etc. etc.

I also spent 100$ on getting the seat reupholstered because it was developing a tear. So before I even sell the damn thing I'm out nearly
500$ But I'm ok with this because I'll make it back selling it.

Then I put an ad out on CL. And this little japanese girl contacts me to buy it. She comes over, loves it, and wants to ride it home. But I can totally tell as she's doing practice runs around the block that she's not comfortable on it yet. She told me that she is a new rider who just took the motorcycle training course. You don't even get to go past 2nd gear in that course. And you certainly don't get to ride on actual streets. So there was no way that I was going to let her ride this thing across town.
I mean, I just met her, but I certainly didn't want her to get turned into road jam on the way home.

I offered to ride it to her place for her if I could get a ride back to my house. She gratefully accepted.

But ON THE WAY there.. like 1 exit away on the freeway as soon as I got going over 65mph the bike starts spewing oil! So I exit and park in a Mcdonalds parking lot, while my bike is still spilling oil like mad. I decide that I'd better take it back to my mechanic, that I'd just gotten the bike back from like 2 weeks previous to see if he messed up somehow etc. Maybe he left a hose loose or something?

So I bring it back the next day and the mechanic says that it's a seal leaking and it has nothing to do with the work that he'd previously done.

So I pay him ANOTHER 175$ to fix it. Then the following day I meet up with the japanese girl again who follows me in her car to her house. The bike sounds perfect, purring like a kitten. It sounds better than I've ever heard it before.

But THEN the next day (today) the girl writes me to say that the bike won't start!!! WHAT THE FUCK! she told me she had 2 other riders check it out and it definitely won't start. It doesn't have anything to do with the battery because the lights come on when she turns it on.

Now my question is what are the chances that a motorcycle would have 2 major problems in the span of 2 days???!! I'm starting to think that the mechanic is sabotoging my bike, but I don't know anything about motorcycle repair, or engines or the like so I don't know. Anybody have any thoughts???

Completely open plan wise. I intend on traveling and stopping in cities to spin fire and work at strip clubs. I would love if it was another exotic dancer who wanted to go with me. Or a writer who would be interesting in collaborating about the experience.

Hello peoples,

New member peeping her head up. I'm an experienced rider - been riding since age 19. Started out in the dirt as my parents forbade me from riding street as long as they were paying the bills. I got my street license at age 23.

My first bike, which I bought as a non-runner for 50 bucks, was a '73 SL350. Got that when I was 20. I got it running over a few weekends, after cleaning out the tank, carbs, fixing some electrical problems, etc. I begged my parents to let me get my permit (I was living at home at the time) but they said NO. My stepmom's father died in a m/c accident so she put her foot down. I ended up selling it to a friend. Last time I checked (a month back), it's still running strong. :)

My next bike was a beat-to-shit '80 GS450 that was actually running but needed some help. I bought it, pulled it apart and put it back together. I found another GS450 that was in better cosmetic shape and swapped parts around. Rode that thing until it threw a cam chain. I was going about 80mph eastbound I-50 to Rancho Cordova to work one morning...BANG RATTLE!!! Oops. I had a spare engine but, for some reason, I decided to let it sit. I was working as a bike rebuilder at the time and was so sick of it all. Poor bike.

I've been riding a '00 SV650, which I bought brand new in late '99, ever since. I've borrowed a lot of bikes to try, from big-ass Goldwings to 900RRs to dual sports. I think the SV is probably the best little bike I've ever ridden. I can sport ride, tour, sport tour, commute, hooliganize...all on one bike!

I'd like to pick up an SV1000 for the hell of it (cheap thrills) and also build a 'motard around an XR650R for "wheelie/stoppie experimentation purposes." *evil grin*

That's about it. Just wanted to say "hi." (Hi!)

Hey all. I've just joined up, and wanted to drop a line and say hey. I live in Australia, and my partner and I both ride Honda VFR800's (didn't take much convincing to get her on one....heh heh ;-)) Stoked to find this tribe. Too fun! If you ever want to explore one of the most superb riding areas in the world...this is it. 15mins to the coast, 15mins to the mountains, tropical climate, the best backroads, peppered with little towns, great pubs, markets, friendly folk. We're just near Byron Bay, Australia's most easterly point. And the best part....we don't have traffic lights. None. Not one set. How cool is that!? :-)

Okay- so thinking about it... considering...i really want to do the easy rider summer this year- just taking my bike and living free for a couple of months, touring the us... the catch is i a also a fire spinner who wants to tour the us fire spinning community, so why not do both at once? drive a day, spin fire that night in a new city/state... a lot of camping out... free-bitches by day, fire goddesses by night... anyone care to join me?

Looking for a good fire spinner- preferably interest in staff and contact dance... who rides a cruiser.

Advice on buying a riding jacket

I'm small and I get cold very easily. Then again, I get hot very easily too- go figure. I have a satin lined light leather jacket that I wear now but it doesn't keep me very warm and it's getting cooler out. It also has only 2 pockets and NO PADDING. If I fall, there it all goes. What advice might you ladies have on buying a new riding jacket? Any brands that are a better deal than another? Leather vs. non-leather?

New Tribe - Women's Health

I know, not quite related, but it involves women, so it might be beneficial to some of you. Hello all. I was noticing that there were a number of health related questions in another tribe in which I belong, so looked into the existence of a tribe that might address women's health concerns .... and to my surprise, there were none. So, I decided to take it upon myself and start one >>> tribes.tribe.net/womenshealth

Please feel free to join, and spread the word!
Cheers,

My warrior girl needs help.

Suzanne and I were together this weekend trying to figure out how to get more people to help us get her free of the Army. If you do not know what happened to her, check out suzanneswift.org
She deserves to come home. Her mental/emotional and spiritual health is starting to deteriorate and I am scared for her. She needs the trauma healing that an Iraq Vet who has been raped deserves.

Peace and let's show our support for Suzanne by making this a huge tribe full of love, support and ACTION for her.
Thank you all...

HI,

I'm new to both the Tribe and to the motorbike world.

Am going for my Motorbike licence in UK before heading back to Oz later this month ( I have a passionate desire to ride a motorbike along the Great Ocean Road on my birthday in August). Have passed the compulary basic training and theory.

Problem is, I'm short 5ft (or 152cm) - but I've been told I've got long legs for my body ;-) My inside leg is 27in.

Have sat astride a Yamaha XJ600 - can just about touch the ground - but didn't take the full weight on my left leg. I'm fairly strong & muscular so I think I could handle it.

Would really welcome comments from female motorcyclists as to what they ride and how they have coped if they are on the short side like me.

advice on bike for small girl... anyone know about new "classic" triumphs?

hey y'all
i'm a relatively new rider, not that secure in my skills yet. and i'm small--5'2" 115 lbs. i'm about to get a new (to me) bike, and would most love to get one of the newish classic-line triumphs, bonnevilles are too expensive, but maybe a 2000 legend (which i read somewhere is a "lower" bike, maybe better for women). i just talked to a guy about a thunderbird--he said it was topheavy and heavy in general and his wife (5'3") never felt comfortable on it.
any advice? anyone know about the legend and its comfort for smaller women? should i give up on my triumph fantasy? any other suggestions for newer bikes with classic styling?
thank you thank you thank you!

LIVE 105 DJ's encourage listeners to "door" lanesplitters

Check out the thread on the Bay Area Riders Forum for full details, contact information to express your outrage, etc. In brief, this morning, the DJ's on the live 105 morning show said " how they thought it was unfair that motorcycles were able to split lanes, and that we should be stuck sitting in traffic with the rest of the cars. He went on to say it was his pet peeve and would love to see open their car door while a bike was splitting. His two morning show ******* just sat there and agreed how great that would be." From BARF poster HOAX: "I was listening this morning to 105.3 around 6:30am on the drive to work and got to listen to how it wasn't fair that motorcycles can lane split and how the dj wants to see someone open a door in front of a lane spliter because he wants to see them "crash hard". He downplayed what he said when a pissed off listener called but a couple calls later someone called argeeing with him and he was back to saying he wants to see motorcyclists crash. Ironically the first comercial after his little anti-motorcycle rant was for a Yamaha dealer."

Here is the link to the BARF thread: http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=149060

I've taken my bike in twice to the shop for the same problem, but they can't seem to figure out what exactly the problem is.. and that's the problem.

My bike stalls on me while I'm riding. The engine just dies down. Then I have to drag the bike to the side of the road while drivers are glaring at me.
I turn the bike off. I turn it back on. Sometimes it starts again. Sometimes
it doesn't.

But here's the weird thing. It only seems to happen when it's hot outside. At night and when it's cold I have no problems. And it also happens a lot more when I'm running low on fuel.

Any ideas girls??

I know...always turn off the gas!! Now I get to drain it...etc. etc. Oh well, More work for me for something so simple as turning that petcock. Color me embarrased.

Ok, I am so tired of seeing motorcycle passengers without proper gear. Over this past summer, I've seen so many, especially young women, riding as passengers in capri pants, flip flops and tiny little shirts w/ their midriffs and back flesh sticking out waiting to be sraped along the road. What gets me is then I see the person they are desperately hanging onto has full leathers and a $500 helmet!

While I think the motorcyclist should care or know enough to protect his/her passenger, at a certain point it's all about personal responsibility and knowledge. I realize there are all kinds of different people in this world with different beliefs, but it pains me to see people who will just hop on the back of a bike w/ out any protection and put so much faith in another person's abilities.

Ok, I am done.

hey all

i am lookin to get a new bike - i'm in san fran. I want a small bike just for commuting in the city and running fast errands. I am hoping for a suzuki gs 500 or a honda hawk (they're small, handle well, style I like and they work for my height) been doing craigslist and moto java, but keep hitting dead ends. Any suggestions of where else to look? Any shops in the Bay Area that might sell either on a regular basis?

Thanks

Heya - I'm bruised and sore but I'm ALIVE!

It was funny, and I know exactly what went wrong- I was lookin' at the ground, and leaned too far over... thank gawsh I didn't hit anybody or anything, and nobody hit me... Slow enough that I din't even rip my pants, and my bike is blemished but ok... Good thing too, I was able to access that adrenaline and pick my Zephyr 550 right up off the street and be on my merry (and much more careful way) ...

Anyways, just thought I'd share...

i'm always looking for more riding partners. i'm really picky about who i ride with so there's only 3 regulars i trust right now... all guys and that's cool but it'd be cool to find some females.

i usually do Mines/Mt Hamilton for a short scoot. for a longer ride, Napa to Sonoma, routes vary, to Skaggs Springs out to the coast and then down 1 and over the free bridge (can't remember the name) and back home.

i ride at a brisk pace. i don't fly around blind corners. i will pass on the double yellow if it's safe. i like tight, technical roads that are more suited for lightweight, flickable bikes like the SV650. a lot of the roads i ride aren't as much fun on a full on sport bike but it depends on the rider. :)

contact me if you're interested.

greetings all,

I just found out about tribe recently and finally decided to join.
i've been riding motorcycles since i was a kid and have loved them ever since. i got my permit when i was 15 and have been riding streetbikes ever since. however, i have come to notice that all my biker friends are guys. i know there's girls out there who ride and now that i joined this tribe, its nice to see all you girls here that actually ride!
unfortunately, a recent car crash has made me lose some of my bike confidence so i'm hoping to gain that back soon.
anyways i just thought i'd say hi to you girls!
about my bike-
I just recently upgraded to a honda f4i and i love it!
Big Red (Melinda Moore) has been missing for a week. If, as you are driving the backroads of the North Bay, you see any sign that a motorcycle may have crashed, please stop and take a look.

Single skid marks, scratches and scrapes on the asphault, broken bits of plastic on or near the road would be the most common signs of a crash.

I am a newbie - hello - and am beyond excited that I passed the MSF course with flying colors this weekend! I'm looking forward to the learning experience and all the new adventures that are in store for me...!

Planning to get a bike in the next couple of weeks. I plan to take it slow at first and get comfortable with being on the road before I just hop on and think I can go barreling down the street. Any words of advice to share about being new, inexperienced and out on the road?

Any wisdom you ladies have to share would be great!

Hi All,

I am signed-up to take the MSF course next month and am determined to pass the course. Once I pass, I plan to get a bike.

My question is about "learning the ropes" after passing the class. Naturally, I know I won't be hopping on my bike and barreling down the freeway. I will be taking baby steps. I am a little hesitant to go it all alone. Are there any newby groups in the Bay Area (preferrably the South Bay)? Or any groups that I could tag along with to learn from and develop my skills with? Eventually it would be nice to have some girls to go riding with...

babes or bitches?

hey all!! just joined the tribe, been riding for 7 years.
Currently ride a Kawazaki Ninja ZX6, live in Vancouver BC.

I'd like to bring up something for us to think about. I've recently become more aware of the words i use and their effect on our society as a whole, so i was actually surprised to see this tribe titled "bitches".

I don't consider myself a motorcycle bitch, but rather a motorcycle babe. Where does that expression come from, ie men or women? How do you feel about it?

How about "Babes on Bikes" instead?

Is this the right tribe for me?

I've read in past posts about riders not being able to pick up a dropped bike. Its all about helping each other ride safe and be safe-
The best technique: don't pick it up alone !
if you're interested I can post additional info on a solo pickup.

I'm about a size 0-2 and I'm having a hard time finding riding pants to fit me either online or in San Francisco. Anyone know any brands that come in that size? I'm hoping for some textiles that zip on and off over another pair of pants, but at this point I'll take anything. Thanks!

Calling for Women Road Captains in SF

The Parade Stars here!

The San Francisco Women's Motorcycle Contingent Dykes On Bikes (SFWMCDOB) is looking for Road Captains for the Pride Parade. We need some special women who are great with the public, have ridden in the SF Gay Pride Parade, and are experienced riders with their own bikes. You will help over 400 women on bikes start off the big parade on Sunday, June 26, 2005 by helping them line up their bikes and taking off in an orderly fashion. In addition, you will assist in maintaining the Parade formation down Market St and helping them to park their bikes. It is a truly a great experience to be part of the largest contingent of women motorcycle riders in the world. If you are up for this great experience contact Kelly@sfwmc.org by June 1st for more details.

Hello
Looking forward to Moto GP at Laguna next summer. I usually camp for WSB and have a grand ol' time smelling race gas and drinking beer. I have such a crush on Rossi and his cute curly clown hair. (you can make fun of me here...) Whatev. I ride a Duc 750, Yam FZR 400 and the old lady stand by Hawk. Who out there is going to Laguna Seca or gives a fuck?

Hot useful Moto gear? Anywhere?

I ride a lot...even to Home Depot to pick up shiznt that defies strapping to the back--runs to Mendicino--across the bridge 2x per day--and now all over LA. I've climbed on wearing skirts, dresses and corsets, but I've yet to find good gear that makes a nod toward safety, is slim and stashable (sidebags), and lets me walk into a gallery opening or meeting without a major streetside sideshow (amusing, sure - but changing in plein air gets old).

Is there any cool gear out there designed for women? (tho I'm 5'10" and find myself buying mostly mens' stuff)

Where do you buy? How do you transform (if need be)? IS there enough cool stuff out there for (f) riders?

Love your input--
they keep stealing my goddamn spark plugs...

Hey grrlz -

I ride a well-loved 1986 Virago 700 and have been parking her in front of my apartment in SF's glorious Mission for nigh on 8 years now. Some nut job keeps breaking off my spark plugs, screwing up the wires in the process so it's not like I can just pop a new plug in and ride off into the sunset. It used to be once a year, but now they come and get 'em as soon as I have new plugs in. Word on the street is that old v-twin plugs are great for smoking crack, which pisses me off even worse.

So short of shelling out the ca$h to garage the old gal, any brilliant ideas? Covering her doesn't seem to be much of a deterrent, and I'm not about to invest in a supply of crack pipes to leave on my seat (though plenty of people have suggested it). And yeah, I know I could get a different bike where the plugs weren't as easy to steal, but I'm rather attached to my v-twin (and besides, if I could afford a new bike, the garage $ wouldn't really be an issue).

Grrr. Thanks for listening.

- Billie

Hi ya'll,
I have absolutly no motorcycle experience whatsoever and I am seeking advice..
I am beginning to save money to start my traveling dream.. which is traveling the country/world, going to all different kinds of events and gatherings, meeting folks, stopping when I feel I should and learning all I can. Okay.. so..
I want to travel by motorcycle.. and I really like the idea of getting one of those sleeper trailers to tow around and "live in".
I guess I have so many questions and I don't know which ones to ask so please feel free to tell me anything you think I should know.
Is there like a "ball park figure" that I can expect to pay for a good/used touring bike?
Are there any primo websites I should check out?
Anyone here done long term motorcycle traveling?

Thank you all so much for helping me out with this. I'd be so proud to be a REAL bitch on wheels! :D

SFMC calendar, vintage women riders photos...

the San Francisco Motorcycle Club's 2005 calendar features vintage photos of their members. (the club turned 100 last year). and since they've had female members since the 30s? 40s? a lot of the photos have cool women on cool old bikes.

i think they've dropped the price of the calendar to at least $10, maybe even less by now. they meet every thursday at 8:30 and every biker is welcome to drop in. and after the meeting, they have an awfully nice bar set up....(non-alcoholic drinks as well...)

motorcycle repair classes--city college

someone may have mentioned these classes previously, but i'm new here and the next semester is about to begin:

city college (s.f.) offers motorcycle classes. they are held at 1400 evans in the auto technology garage. the classes listed for this semester are: moto 60, intro to motorcycle mechanics, moto 61 custom metal fabrication and moto 74 engine and transmissions. i took the intro class with awesome teacher lisa duke. although there is a basic course of study, much of the class is hands on--your bike, your friend in the class' bike, donation bikes. i worked on ripping out the air restriction on my new triumph and putting on k&ns and figuring out how better to time my 1968 ym-1 2-stroke. i thought that there would be a lot of obnoxious guy bikers--but almost everyone was super friendly and would let you in on what they were working on. a good amount of women stuck it through. i think a few may take it over again, just for the access to tools and a shop and some guidance.

eventually they're going to channel these classes so that you could earn certification, from what i understand.

i think the classes may be full by now, but as with all city college classes, show up extra early, sign on the list, and if you're determined you'll find yourself a space in the class.

Dear everyone,
(This is forwarded to you):

Today Scott Calvert, SO of Ann Goldberg., who is to take care of my
BMW75/6-Sputnik sidecar, sent me an emergency letter stating that the
sidecar went missing. It was parked in Oakland, between 3rd Avenue and
19th.

I am in New Mexico, and cannot be back in California until January.

We have since checked with both the police and the tow, and neither
confirmed that they have the sidecar in their records. That means it is
stolen.

Most of you know this is my teaching vehicle, and I put almost a year to
make this vehicle happens. I am supposed to bring this vehicle back to
New Mexico in either this month, or January.

The vehicle in question is white, with the sidecar being red (a
sputnik). Its vehicle license plate number is 7M0563 (0=zero). Its vin #
4947155

The picture is here:

http://www.alcatrazmoto.com/rigs/bmwsputnik.jpg

Please spread this email out as far as possible, and also to all
(including Bay Area riders) forums, so that it could be found before it
was disassembled or shipped to Mexico. Please notfy all local groups such
as the Vampires, the Rats, Dragons, etc, to look out for it. Feel free to
do whatever you want to do with the thieves. I just need the vehicle
back.

Notice that since this is a sidecar, if the person stole it for joyride
may not know how to operate and can kill himself very easily. For those
that knows sidecar, its steering method is the exact opposite of a
motorcycle. A sidecar, like a trike, is traditioanlly used by handicapped
person, so stealing a sidecar is really a very disgusting act. This is a
school vehicle, and my students are usually handicapped.

Your help is appreciated,
opinions on men's boots for women

Hi,

I'm looking for a good motorcyle boot that is waterproof or an impressive water-resistant for riding in Seattle rain. I like the men's styling (what's with the heels on the women's boots?) but I need a size 6 which is damn near impossible to find.

I've found a couple boots online that have the qualitlies I like; has anyone had any experience with Kochmann boots or Sidi On Roads? Any opinions on styling, quality, calf size, height of boot under jeans etc?

Thanks

Hi all!
I am putting together a ride through So OC. I would like to do this ride July 24th. The proposed route is starting in Orange, at the mouth of Santiago Canyon, taking Santiago Canyon to El Toro, jump onto the 133 S and ride that down to PCH and continue down PCH. I'll be scouting out a start and end place next weekend, as well as some pull-over spots. This ride I have classified as easy to moderate (I am a beginner and have not had much trouble with this route.)So let me know what you think! Who's in?
Sports, chopper, cruisers, and "others" are welcome!

Being 5'1 and 3/4", it can be difficult finding a non custom ride I can foot. I sat on a '97 zx6 I couldn't even foot without boots on. I ride an '87 cbr600f I was lucky to find.
Whats peoples experience with low(er) sport bikes?

Looking for a RAT bike...

Hey ladies,
I'm new to this tribe so I thought I would introduce myself.
I've been riding since I was 16 (unless you count my little dirt bike when i was 10) an I love it!
I've done some great long distance trips, one track day at willow springs and i used to teach for the cc rider program (which i recommend to everyone!)
But sad as it is I had to sell my bright yellow CBR 600F4 last year and have been with out a bike for almost a year now and it's killing me.
I would love to find a shitty rat bike - maybe an old hurricane or FZR - I don't need any of the plastic but I need it to run well.
If anyone has any leads could you let me know?
Thanks!!!
Happy riding - rubber side down - shiny side up!
Cheers,
suzanne

Women riders in Santa Cruz

Hi Everyone.
I would like to meet any women riders who are in Santa Cruz/South Bay area who are looking to ride backroads.

I have an Aprilia RS50 so I am limited to non-freeway, but I can still ride around in the twisties of SC.

I am also currently unemployed(hoping to change that soon) at the moment so I can ride anytime.

Thanks,
Tracey

Clitoral piercing + bike, possible? Very bad idea? Has anyone else out there got one?

My bike is my only vehicle so not riding is out of the question for any length of time, but I DO have this week off so I thought I might have a window of opportunity.
