Re: Lame bitches....
Fri, July 13, 2007 - 9:10 AMI fess up to my lameness. I'm merely a passenger. :( I bought a Bajaj scooter so my sweetie and I can get around, but then when I tried to ride it I learned I'm too short (gotta stand on tippy toes to hold it up). So he scoots us around. As soon as we can afford it (i.e. after paying for our wedding!) we're going to get one just my size. The Bajaj was just too good to pass up and right now, I love being "Miss Daisy." We ride almost every day because we don't have a car and right now Seattle is gorgeous! -

Fri, July 13, 2007 - 9:41 AMHm, I work all day and am studying for the Bar - so my riding days consist of riding to work or the occaissional jaunt down to the beach. I am out for any 'organized' (or even disorganized) rides for a bit. Sorry!

Re: Lame bitches....
Sat, July 14, 2007 - 12:40 PMI just joined this site, thinking I could find some riding pals, ..but it seems like y'all are all out west. I am in southern NY, Hudson Valley area.
I got a Honda Shadow VLX in April. My first bike was a rebel 250, a little scooty thing but I had a great time learning on it for two seasons. My new one is a 600. I named her Pearl. I name all my vehicles for some reason.:-) She is black and shiny and has lots of sparkly chrome!!!
I didn't think I wanted a black bike but I saw her and fell in love. I am still learning mechanics, trying to locate a basic mechanics course through the MANYS. There are not a lot of folks signing up ....
I do have a friend who is a bike mechanic but I hate always asking for his help with this and that.
Do you women generally know what's going on with your machines or do you take 'em out for work? I have ordered my Clymer manual for the little stuff...
I am looking for some folks to ride with on Saturdays or on Sunday afternoons or mid week. The weather here has been either amazing riding weather - or raining. I rode in the rain for the first time about a month ago, I was fine with it (had my rain gear of course) until the HAIL came down - WTF! It was like getting stabbed with pencils, pretty damn funny. So I pulled over at a conveniently located overhang. It was in the middle of nowhere , so I knew the Big Guy was watching out for me ;-)

Re: Lame bitches....
Wed, July 18, 2007 - 11:02 AMI've got a similar issue as Kate -- I live in Southern Illinois, and even "local" riders are all up north. The husband and I are trying to find a bike for him, but so far we've had no luck. I just got my first bike at the beginning of the year, an '82 Seca. She's been well-loved, and so far it's been really fun, but really lonely. The MSF was fun, since I got to interact with others, but after the classes finished... well, I lost track of everyone.
Not much to say, to be honest. I ride when I can, but weather around here has either been too wet to be safe, or too hot for gear -- and I refuse to ride without gear.
The husband and I name our stuff too, Kate -- my little red VW is Lina, my bike is Kino, and his new bug is Bumblebee. :D I'm hoping to take some classes to learn to work on my bike too, and while I couldn't find a Clymer in my year and model, I did order the factory manual to peruse.

Re: Lame bitches....
Thu, October 25, 2007 - 8:03 AMSorry, I have had a limited connection for the last few months. Moved to NYC from NW Indiana in January. The last few months have been HELL!! Sold my Indiana home (cocksmokin' ex made me sell...), had to find a more permanent residence for me and my kid (a real bitch and a half in Manhattan), and started a new job. I currently pirate any open signal when I can or have to play on tribe while at work, which is no easy feat considering that I'm a nurse. Have sold my HD due to financial issues, but working on purchasing a fine ass Street Bob...
